DEATH IS NEARBY

This is a collaborative poem written by Grade 7 students on the contents of a “jar.” This jar was a prop that was used to discuss hypothesis formation, as well as segue into a DIY cloud chamber activity for detection of sub atomic particles.

I see a narcissist in the jar.
In the jar, I see but air and grief.
A smart car driven by a sasquatch.
Dr. Phil is in the car.
I see a small little world in the great big jar.

There are lots of Davids doing the tango with a horse and goat in the jar.
In the jar I think that there is a turtle bombing the Russians.
There are gummy bears in the jar!
In the jar, I think there is loneliness.

Putin taming bears in a jar.
The man bear played video games like a boss.
A billion dollars dancing in a jar.
Black roses filled the jar.

This jar is filled with dancing buttons and cats.
50 angry mosquitoes.
This jar is filled with cute puppies.
A van full of Mexican drug lords.
Somali pirates singing ‘How to Save a Life’ by The Fray.

In the jar, there are 10 pounds of puke and 8 frog legs.
I think there are 500 different types of candy.
In the jar, there are rainbows and millions of Kanye Wests.
My last hope that I will live.
In this jar there are 14 shrimp with Kanye West face and a dog.

Kim Kardashian riding a giraffe in the jar.
What’s in the jar? It’s Kanye West! He’s not too far and he’s gonna protest!
I see the Kanye West concert (that never happened).
In the jar I see a Unicorn.
The jar contains the answer to life & everything (42).
